Handmade porcelain lampshades
According to traditional methods, the lampshades are made of ceramic with great care and by hand in a workshop in Berlin / Wedding.

After the mold is carefully removed,
the fragile blank can be peeled off
The lampshades are fired, glazed and
finally fired again at 1250 degrees.
They consist of the very translucent
Soft porcelain Mont Blanc.
First, a mold made of plaster is made.
After this has dried, it is completely filled with porcelain casting mass.
The plaster withdraws moisture from the mass and after a few minutes a fine, ever thicker wall forms. The excess material is poured off.
By hand, small bumps
are carefully reworked.
